Unlock leadership potential in your team and address the hidden impact of ineffective leadership on employee satisfaction and productivity.
37% of people have considered leaving their jobs because of their manager.
We need to address the elephant in the room. Poor workplace leadership affects more than just productivity.
This happens because companies often promote employees to management roles without sufficient training. We refer to these people as accidental managers. They are great at their role and then promoted into leadership positions.
When pushed into new responsibilities, the correct support must be in place. Without that support, managers become uncomfortable in their new position. This leads to disengagement with their team. The disconnection creates poor communication, lower performance and attrition in working relationships.
Further down the line, this leads to dissatisfaction and employees leave affecting team dynamics, poor morale and lost performance. This in turn leads to recruitment and training costs.
Your organisation can avoid this.
Our Leadership Development Programme is designed to unlock leadership potential by providing managers with the skills and confidence to lead effectively. The course ensures those in management roles have the support needed to thrive.
Managers can develop new skills to incorporate into their roles. Implementing these skills will help their team improve. This holistic growth creates a more positive working attitude. Regular peer reviews then reinforce these new skills.
As HR experts, we can ensure managers learn the most effective ways to engage with their team.
The Programme
“What will I Iearn while on the programme?”
Leadership development programmes improve business leaders’ confidence, skills and abilities. They act as a long-term solution of internal growth, through continuous learning and development.
The programme starts with a Lumina psychometric questionnaire. This provides valuable insight into how you lead and work with others.
It helps individuals understand their personality, communication style and work preferences. Providing insight into a person’s behavioural traits, motivations and emotional responses.
Your leadership style will differ from that of other managers. This is why it’s important to understand individual leadership strategies – to make the most of every skill learned.
‘After seeing our business grow organically and with no formal leadership training, I was keen to see what ideas I could implement within our company. As well as being informative it was good to listen to other managers and business owners on their approach to day-to-day leadership challenges.
The psychometric tests were a great insight into my own leadership style and delivered in a fun engaging way.
I’m looking forward to using my new found knowledge to make a positive impact in our business.’

Early steps
“How does the programme start?”
The first full-day workshop introduces key ideas of ‘leadership’ and ‘knowing yourself’. We understand how this sounds but these aren’t soul-seeking meditation sessions. The ‘Leadership’ workshop instead provides deeper insight into your role and organisation.
You will:
- Understand what drives your business (your company’s goals, mission/vision and values).
- Learn the difference between what leadership means and what management entails.
- Begin looking into decision-making.
The first two workshops provide the necessary framework for becoming a high-performing leader.
Further steps
“How will I develop the ideas from the first two workshops?”
Workshop 3 puts the spotlight on Team Leadership. Building on the foundations set in the first two workshops brings your team closer together.
You will:
- Create a cohesive and collaborative working environment.
- Develop better synergy and working chemistry.
- Touch on topics such as communication, diversity, and well-being.
Workshop 4 explores the opportunity to change, grow, and evolve. By creating a team dialogue, everyone will have a better understand internal happenings.
Learn how to:
- Deal with internal change.
- Prepare for senior leadership changes.
- Overcome barriers.
Moving into Workshop 5, delegates will learn time management skills and how and when to delegate so that they become a more effective and efficient leader. They also gain an understanding employment law and ACAS (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) codes of practice.
We will focus on:
- The implications for leaders and the company when they don’t follow proper practices.
- Insight into managing your team’s time, as well as your own, more effectively.
Final steps
“I feel confident as a leader, what next?”
Workshop 6 takes the steps to turn your team management skills from general management to more personal issues. One of the focal points is to stop underlying issues early on, helping to prevent them from snowballing in size.
This can include:
- Reducing conflict between team members.
- Avoiding under-performance and capability issues.
- Properly investigating grievances.
The purpose of this workshop is to help smooth out potential problems. By giving proper attention to tougher, more serious issues, your team can overcome challenges.
Workshop 7 focuses on performance appraisals. This is where you can celebrate the amazing work of your team! Through honest feedback and setting individual goals, your team can improve and flourish.
The purpose of performance appraisals isn’t to criticise employees.
Instead, you should:
- Highlight what your employees are doing well.
- Continue their progression in a productive direction.
- Hone in on individual issues and provide the framework for improvement.
- Ensure everyone engages with the company’s missions and goals.
- Create a company-wide plan for improving performance.
The final workshop is Workshop 8. This will focus on the importance of recruiting. This is fitting for the final workshop. After undergoing seven sessions about managing your existing team, it moves towards company growth.
Bringing in new people to your workforce takes careful consideration, and is often a lengthy process. Recruitment can also help you to improve the performance of current employees.
Following up
“I’m finally done! But how will I know what I’ve learned will work?”
Every delegate receives 3 hours of executive coaching sessions after completing their workshops. This will strengthen the skills you have learned by tying it into how you lead your team.
Three months after completing Workshop 8, we will hold a follow-up progress review. As part of a discussion with other leaders, you will discuss how you have implemented your learning into a team framework. This is a great way to learn new ideas and strategies for your team.
The future
After completing the programme, delegates should be more capable with leadership skills. We understand that strong leadership doesn’t always come naturally.
Great management is something you can hone and master, helping you become highly valued in your workplace. With our expert support, new leaders won’t feel out of place in their position.
Senior leaders have a huge impact on how their team works. A bad leader can be the difference between thriving and surviving. You must do what you can to support the leaders in your workplace.
